Back up. Back up. Oh, let’s say about 18 or so years ago. There we were, two brothers smack in the middle of Scarborough – in a low-income neighbourhood, with our hands on a used Compaq DeskPro, fiddling around with graphic design, HTML editing and Flash animation software.

Let’s just say we were completely blown away by the digital space and floored by what we could create. So right there, from our shared one-bedroom in this 16-floor apartment, we started offering low-budget graphic and web design services to our neighbours. Revenue was low. The profit was pretty much ziltch. But we had tons of fun.

Fast forward nine years. And, in comes our creative genius of a sister, with an eye for design. So off we went, expanding to provide branding, marketing and print services. In 2010, we hit pause and went off to pursue other interests.

Skip ahead another few years. Now we are back as Konnect Communications.

Now, you should probably know this. Wrapped up in Konnect is this other love of ours – connecting people. We generally find we get this warm, fuzzy feeling when we introduce two people with an incredible pot of chemistry, ideas and passion. Watching it play out, hearing about the roads of opportunity they are heading down and seeing their ideas in motion, kind of gives us a kick.

So, we thought ‘Hmmmm…What’s at the heart of connections?” It’s quite simply actually. Better communication.

So think about it this way. Konnect Communications is our vehicle through which we get to help brands, and ultimately people, like yourselves, make connections – by sharing powerful stories of your people, passion and purpose.

Deva heads up our North America operations and has nearly 20 years of experience in Strategy, IT Security and Risk Management, Digital, Analytics,and more. He also manages a technology solutions company that serves regional clients in the business and not-for-profit sectors. Deva is an unabashed technophile who spends his spare time reading up on the latest tech news, preaching about internet security and privacy, and memorizing Wikipedia.

Shovan heads up our Europe operations and has more than 10 years of experience in Digital Media, UI & UX, and Social Media Marketing. Having worked with clients, ranging from start-ups to blue-chip companies, he is passionate about helping businesses accelerate their growth in the digital space. Shovan spends his spare time supporting various charities, flying his drone, and day dreaming about the next big thing in technology.

Hari heads up Rarefly Technologies, our regional partner in South Asia, and has more than 16 years of experience in strategy, graphics, UI design, web, branding, and print. He has worked with major regional and international clients across various industries including Financial Services, Health Care, Education, Transportation, Real Estate, and Hospitality. Hari loves spending his spare time with his young family, painting, and photography.

Kumaran spends his spare time with family and friends, supporting various causes in Toronto and around the world, and travelling.

Adriaan leads our global client relations, and has more than 15 years of experience in working for international media agency networks in several countries in Europe. He has worked in marketing, advertising, and media strategy for many international top advertisers in different industries such as FMCG, automotive, finance and IT/internet. In his spare time, Adriaan volunteers at a bike shop and community kitchen, and enjoys cycling all around Toronto.
